Ed Borresen, a fourth generation builder and stone mason and raised in an Air Force military family, has spent a good portion of his life honing his skills in construction design. His travels abroad with his family provided him with an exceptional view of the world from an early age and provided Ed with a unique artistic opportunity from which he draws inspiration for his structural designs. Rather then pursue architecture, Ed joined the family business, a mechanical construction company. "Ed is a horse trainer with many championships. He is also an award winning Equestrian Estate and Facility Designer." In 1975 Ed married Monica Sinks. Together, Ed and Monica decided to pursue their dreams of training horses. This dream would require a facility. From the ruins of an old field stone barn on a piece of property owned by Monica's family, arose the creation of Willow Spring Farm. For the next 25 years Ed would vest his artistic energy and time creating and restoring this property. Willow Spring Farm would become the benchmark from which other barns would be designed. In 1983, Ed began to design indoor rings from ideas that he learned in Europe. Ed's gift for stone masonry, use of European style and Amish craftsmanship can be seen in other equestrian facilities. Facilities such as: Belinda Nairn's, Susie Buchanan's Indoor, Fire Creek Farm, and his most recent projects; Tuny Page's Stillpoint Farm in Wellington, Florida, the renovation of Clare Bronfman's Slate River Farm, and John Duess' show barns in Wellington Florida Ed's portfolio also includes many homes throughout the Pennsylvania Bucks County area including Monica & Ed's residence which has been featured in Bucks County Town & Country Living magazine. |
