monica sinks

Monica Sinks Started with horses at the age of 5. She started by finding any horse farm in the neighborhood, and volunteering her services. Her early years were spent working for F. Bruce Miller, a very famous Timber Race horse trainer. She and her sister Laura Sinks, walked there to work until they became valuable enough to get picked up. They worked in the stable and took lessons until they were old enough to start breaking, and training youngsters for Bruce. Monica comes from a wonderfully creative family. Her Sister Laura is an equine sculptor. Her son Bodie is a graphic artist. Monica's brother Tell, an actor and teacher living on Bainbridge Island, WA is the father of two famous actors, Liev and Pablo Schreiber.

"For the last 32 years Monica and Ed, as a team, have studied in
Denmark and Holland and from these experiences created a system of riding and training that produced over 25 horses and students to the FEI levels."

Monica has spent her life working with horses. In 1975 when she and her husband Ed Borresen pursued their dream of building a training facility, they built Willow Spring Farm, Inc., a 28 acre farm in New Hope, Pennsylvania.

"Monica and Ed are truly vested in their horses. Having worked for Monica and Ed seventeen years ago as a working student and then again this summer, I can say that their commitment to their horses well being and happiness is just as important to them today as it was 17 years ago. In fact, even more so. They really care about each horse and each horses individual needs and tailor an appropriate training program for each horse." - Paige Barnette Schwartzman.
